Skill Certificate in Public Health Science
The Skill Certificate in Public Health Science prepares students for protecting and improving the health of people and their communities by promoting healthy lifestyles, researching disease and injury prevention, as well as detecting, preventing, and responding to infectious diseases. Students who complete the certificate will have an increased understanding for Public Health majors and majors in related disciplines.
Transfer & Career Opportunities
The Certificate in Public Health Science is intended to meet the initial stages for lower division preparation in Public Health majors and related programs. Career opportunities for Public Health are plentiful and include positions in/as a community health specialist, quality improvement coordinator, research assistant, prevention specialist, occupational health and safety specialist, or social and community service manager.

The Skill Certificate requirements include completion of the certificate courses with a “C” or better grade in each course. Required and support courses may be substituted with the approval of the Physical Education/Athletics Division Chair.
