Associate of Arts in Art (AA)
This degree prepares students for entry-level employment and/or potential further study at a four year university, especially for students seeking expanded portfolio growth by exposing them to intermediate coursework within each concentration in the field of Art. The areas of concentration in this degree include: Art History, Ceramics, Sculpture, Digital Art, Drawing/Painting, and Printmaking. Students will acquire skills in: the application and analysis of visual communication referencing design elements and principles, art historical and contemporary art research, portfolio development, fine art media techniques and processes with a focus on refining artistic intent and expression.

Demonstrate proficiency in applying a selected range of media to create artworks at an intermediate college level that expresses their creative voice.

Transfer & Career Opportunities
The College maintains articulation with most CSU and UC campuses and some private colleges and universities. Course requirements vary between colleges and universities and students are encouraged to consult ASSIST.org and a COS counselor for program planning and course selection. Most common career opportunities with a baccalaureate degree include: freelance art creator, art education, gallery technician, museum preparator, gallery management, exhibition designer/curator, commercial artist, visual and product design, fine art and commercial photographer, illustrator, tattoo artist, digital artist, printmaking technician, maker space shop manager, sculptor, ceramic design, art materials sales associate.
